The Idoma people are a hospitable tribe settled partly in nassarawa state, cross river state with the majority of them in benue south or the middle belt the Idomas are basically hunters and farmers also known to be great warriors who originated from the famous kwararafa kingdom with tribes like Igala, Igbira and many others the Idoma culture is such a powerful one that since the 14 century up till date it has maintain its stand in morality and nobelity the Otukpo tribe of the Idoma people shows traits of her past culture in various ways amongst the Otukpo people a male adult child is greeted [Odu] meaning staff of authority so technically every otukpo male child is a king by birth, surprising Otukpos however via their culture put in place means by which their culture could be preserved for as long as time prevails this are mediums like the Alekwu Afia a figure believed to be the symbol of her culture and traditions it also serves as a medium between them and God in heaven [Owoicho]
through ancestoral worship however this great figure has interesting abilities, for hundreds of years this practice has been used to keep the history of her people in details without conflicts to its facts.
now it does not only keep history but it also has the ability to tell an individual about their characters or ability in relative to their long gone ancestors on sight.
